    Brooch

    Size: 8.5 x 5.5 x 1.75 cm

Materials: Polymer clay, stainless steel, silver, bamboo

2020 has been tough, chaotic and almost surreal for everyone. There was certainty in the sculptural forms I had explored earlier in my artistic career. Reconnecting with them anchored me. As I was finishing my piece, placing flowers in a pot felt like an affirmation of the continuity of existence and a counterweight to the madness outside my window.

Claire Maunsell - Not my Dog Collar

    Polymer, paint, alcohol ink.

I have been working with ways of stringly curiously angled beads to create a more 3 dimensional effect which is larger than expected given the beads used to create it. This necklace is also reversible and looks very different worn the other way around. I wanted the final piece to be utterly simple and sculptural as well.

    24 in. with 3-4 in. L beads

A fantasy interpretation of natural coral, this large showpiece is created with 34 hand sculpted hollow beads and 50 small hand made spacers. Each piece is hand colored in a limited palette of sand and water tones with a touch of gold throughout. Amphitrite is a goddess associated with water and I imagine her happily wearing this. • Fiona Herbst - Donegal Links Overview
Fiona Herbst - Donegal Links Overview

Fiona Herbst - Donegal Links Overview

My intention with this piece was to make wearable art that tells a story about where I come from. I live in a rural, mountainous area, a stone's throw away from the sea. The peaks are imposing and rugged. Its people are widely dispersed throughout the county and the economy is weak. Many people must move away to find work yet their connection to home remains unbending. Hence, I have created a piece called 'Donegal Links' making it big, bold and strong. The links swirl like the white waves of the Atlantic Ocean. They hold strong like the people.

I live in an old farmhouse which was once a flax mill. Flax was one of Donegal's main income source in the past. I have used white and translucent clay to reflect the colours of flax but also to symbolise ivory for power and strength.I have used a rough linen tie continuing with the flax theme. The connecting beads that attach the linen tie to the chain is textured with Donegal tweed. The mokume gane used on the link and central beads provides movement and contrast, reflecting the swaying flax reeds in the wind. Length: 90 cm / 36 in, Central bead: 5 cm /2 in, Material: Polymer clay / Linen.

Karen Mitchell - Remnants, Remembrance, Rebirth

    Dimensions: 12" L x 12 5/8" W

Liquid polymer clay, fabric, wire, thread.

Created from the remnants and scraps of over 500 handmade and donated face coverings, this neckpiece is an homage to the lost year. Dissent and strength (RBG), community and caring, sadness and hope, and new avenues for creativity are the intertwined messages woven into the fabric of the design, reflecting the ragged beauty of a globally shared experience.

    Kathryn Corbin - 6:15

No it’s not about time. It’s a puzzle, as are the parts! Six parts which can be combined into fifteen different bracelets. A silver puzzle bracelet (two identical parts) I saw online caught my attention, not for its design, but for the possibilities if it could be made from polymer clay. I wanted to pursue the idea that a jewelry form could also be a brain twister, offered the wearer the fun of arranging and choosing the parts, and when not in use, be enjoyed as mini sculptures on their own, to be turned, posed and arranged for visual pleasure.

Materials: Cosclay®, a hybrid plastic/rubber polymer clay, polymer clay, pastels, and acrylic markers.

The sizes vary, designed to slip over the hand when joined, but adjustable by repositioning them relative to each other.

Lenora Kandiner - Spring and Fall Ginkgo

These ginkgo neckpieces have become Lenora's signature. They are completely reversible and may be worn open or closed. They have hidden magnetic closures to allow them to be worn in various ways. The inspiration is being able to wrap a ginkgo branch around your neck. This particular piece has the coloration of spring ginkgo leaves on one side and fall on the other. Lenora is drawn to ginkgo because it is a survivor.
