About the Artist: Philip Wiegard

Philip Wiegard (b. 1977 in Schwetzingen / Deutschland) studied at Hunter College, New York (2001–2002) and at Universität der Künste Berlin (1998–2003), of which he holds a Master degree in Fine Arts. He was a fellow of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (2001–2003) and a resident artist at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2007) and at Spring Workshop in Hong Kong (2014). He received a work stipend (2019) and a research stipend (2020) from the Berlin Senate of Culture. His work was shown at institutions such as Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (2020); Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA, Bordeaux (2019); Between Bridges, Berlin (2018); Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona (2018); Museet for Samtidskunst, Rosklide (2017); Kunstverein Nürnberg (2016); MOCA – Pacific Design Center, Los Angeles (2015); HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Berlin (2011); Depo, Istanbul (2010); Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Zürich (2008);
