About the Artist: Evamarie Törnström
My passion is horses and thus I follow an old tradition of horse artists. Through my artistic creation, I want to give the feeling of being close to a horse and its healing ability, to show and remind of how wonderful and inspiring horses are. I come from an old family of artists, so I have "always" been doing art and received both encouragement and constructive criticism from those around me. When I create a new horse, I often walk around for hours and days, twisting and turning the possibilities, impossibilities, colors, shapes, and different expressions in my thoughts. Patterns, solutions, and various technical design problems take turns. Each horse is unique, each horse carries its own meaning and has its own symbols and meaning. Every horse has been created with empathy and love. Polymer clay is such a fantastic artistic material because the colors are present in the clay itself from the beginning. When I create with polymer clay, it feels like I'm painting in three dimensions.
