Saturday, June 13, 2015 9:00 am - Sunday, June 14, 2015 4:00 pm
Melanie West and Organic Form
In this two day class, Melanie will share her approach to (and methods for) making organic form using two-part epoxy clays for armature and laminating these forms with polymer clay. Epoxy clays offer both flexibility (before curing) and strength (after curing), and can be carved and sanded as well. It is an ideal material for creating strong, organic armature (and, as an added bonus, it’s waterproof!). She’ll also demonstrate how she uses organic caning to emulate nature’s patterns and talk about how she mixes her colors to support her caning work.
