Please join us for the fabulous new workshop weekend, CLAYSINO, Las Vegas, June 2-4 2017!!!

After the FIMO Symposium, we thought it was time to offer a polymer clay event for North America! We proudly present the fabulous FIMO CLAYSINO in Las Vegas, at The Excalibur Hotel & Casino (in the style of a medieval castle)! Royal surprises, knights in shining armour and more....

From June 2 – June 4, 2017, all clayers and creative people are invited to join us in this fantastic city for 3 days of FIMO workshops.

3 internationally renowned artists will hold full-day workshops

You can look forward to exciting new techniques, new information, endless inspiration and a lot of fun!

This event features Lisa Pavelka! Lisa is an award-winning artist, designer and author, internationally recognized for her expertise in polymer clay. In her 30+ years as a professional artist and instructor, she has pioneered numerous techniques for clay as well as several crossover methods for mixed media applications and has launched her own polymer product line.

Package includes

  • All lunches and refreshments during the workshops
  • All of the FIMO material and other necessary STAEDTLER products required for the classes
  • Special dinner party with all participants, teachers and the FIMO team. This will be a fun evening with lots of surprises! Get excited for this amazing event, it’s going to be good!

FEB. 18-20 Cabin Fever Workshops and Retreat

Cabin Fever is celebrating 10 years of inspiring hands-on workshops.  This year, Ann and Karen Mitchell have been selected as the 2017 Creative Pioneer and Innovator Award Honorees for their portfolio of work and contributions to the polymer community. They are not only sisters and the best of friends, but run a very successful jewelry design business with over 25 years of collaboration. 

The Mitchell sisters (ANKARA Designs) are scheduled to teach 3 full day workshops at the upcoming Creative Arts Fests’ Cabin Fever, Feb. 18-20, 2017 in Laurel, MD.

Openings are still available if you have a day or two to come hone your jewelry design skills with them.  Other instructors include Jeffrey Lloyd Dever, Mags Bonham, Lisa Pavelka, Lisa Haney, Lynne Ann Schwarzenberg, and Kathryn Jo Ottman.

Explore the subtle beauty of translucent polymer clay. The semitransparent quality of this material can be utilized to add depth to your work, or be finished to a glass-like surface. Take advantage of these properties during the workshop to create translucent-based canes with an organic feel and assemble them into jewelry. 

Woven wire brooch

In this class students will learn how to use wire to weave a basket-like pod. We will also be working on a series of organic elements that will then be combined to construct a brooch or a pendant.

Polyform very generously will be providing polymer clay for this class.

Carol Simmons Classes in Houston

In this fast-paced 3-day workshop, you will use slices of simple canes to make two types of 3-dimensional objects: flowers and totems. Lots of opportunity for your imagination to run wild!

In this 2-day workshop for all experience levels, you will make impression plates, then use them on stacks of Premo regular and mica clay to create beautiful mokume gane slices that will be used to make pendants, etc.
