FEB. 18-20 Cabin Fever Workshops and Retreat
Cabin Fever is celebrating 10 years of inspiring hands-on workshops. This year, Ann and Karen Mitchell have been selected as the 2017 Creative Pioneer and Innovator Award Honorees for their portfolio of work and contributions to the polymer community. They are not only sisters and the best of friends, but run a very successful jewelry design business with over 25 years of collaboration.
The Mitchell sisters (ANKARA Designs) are scheduled to teach 3 full day workshops at the upcoming Creative Arts Fests’ Cabin Fever, Feb. 18-20, 2017 in Laurel, MD.
Openings are still available if you have a day or two to come hone your jewelry design skills with them. Other instructors include Jeffrey Lloyd Dever, Mags Bonham, Lisa Pavelka, Lisa Haney, Lynne Ann Schwarzenberg, and Kathryn Jo Ottman.

Explore the subtle beauty of translucent polymer clay. The semitransparent quality of this material can be utilized to add depth to your work, or be finished to a glass-like surface. Take advantage of these properties during the workshop to create translucent-based canes with an organic feel and assemble them into jewelry.
Woven wire brooch

In this class students will learn how to use wire to weave a basket-like pod. We will also be working on a series of organic elements that will then be combined to construct a brooch or a pendant.
Polyform very generously will be providing polymer clay for this class.

HIDDEN JEWELS - A NEW MOKUME GANE TECHNIQUE

In this 2-day workshop for all experience levels, you will make impression plates, then use them on stacks of Premo regular and mica clay to create beautiful mokume gane slices that will be used to make pendants, etc.
