About the Artist
Rhonda Foster is a lifelong resident of Hillsdale County, MI. She currently resides at a beautiful woodland paradise west of Hillsdale. Rhonda is a self-taught artist and creates whimsical and realistic sculptures and wall art using Sculpey products. Rhonda began working with polymer clay in 1987. In 2012 and 2015 she was a participant in ArtPrize Grand Rapids entering large jungle and seascape pieces. Rhonda has been an instructor in the Polymer Clay Creative Experience for several years teaching all ages from 3 to 93. She is the author and illustrator of a children's book, "What Does The Monkey Know" which she has shared with children in all of the Hillsdale County schools. The illustrations were made from polymer clay scenes from the 2012 ArtPrize entry. Rhonda has been a past president of ArtWorks, the arts council for Hillsdale County and a past vice president of the Hillsdale County Art Guild. She was the president of Gallery 49 Artists Co-op for 11 years and is a member of the International Polymer Clay Association.
