About the Artist

My name is Cecilia Leonini, I was born in Tuscany (Italy) and I live in the countryside, near Siena.

My background is music. I am a pianist and I have been teaching piano and music for many years. Over time I graduated in music therapy and in intercultural counseling.

I have always loved art, color, nature and animals.

My encounter with polymer clay happened "by chance" in 2013 when I saw a "skinner blend" work on the internet and It was love.  Since then I have been working with polymer clay and mixed media in search of new colors and shapes, styles and techniques. Clay is, for me, the synthesis of all the Arts I love and it is my corner of happiness, silence and meditation and I am often inspired by natural elements, sounds and music.  In polymer clay I find the same vibrations, sounds and colors of music, the same nuances of sounds, the same emotion.

My Polymer Work has been featured on blogs and publications such as "Polymer Clay Daily",, "The Daily Polymer Arts Blog", "Polymer clay Planet", "Polymeri Online".  I have taught my techniques in some workshops and in Staedtler Fimo Symphosium (Monza, MI 2017).

The Stone Rejected by the Builders Has Become the Cornerstone (Psalm 117)

2021

24.80 x 5.11"

Mixed techniques, inks, pastels, steel, micro-pearls

Architectural necklace, magnetic front opening. The necklace was made entirely with scraps and scraps. The cornerstone is the most important and is, ideally, the one that supports the whole building. Valuing waste and "reviving it" is the meaning of the piece.

23.62" from top to bottom

Polymer clay, steel

The necklace, in basic black and white, was born from a study on color contrasts. The synthesis par excellence of white/black/red was chosen to create contrast even though chromatic simplicity by modifying only the veneers and the inlays of the surface.

21.65 " total length, 10.62" length from top to bottom

Polymer clay, liquid polymer, copper and brass

The necklace was designed in a dynamic way. The three elements that compose it close on each other "like an accordion." The leaves are made with the technique of engraving and mokume, the flower is made in the manner of a bas-relief and therefore has a 3D structure.
