Shalom House
A wooden house measuring 5 1/2 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 1 inch deep sporting a Hebrew prayer veneer. This is something that I created that has personal meaning to me. Any biblical or historical significance is purely coincidental. Shalom as you may know means hello, goodbye and peace. With everything going on in this country today I wanted something physical and symbolic to represent that I was a kind person and that my house was a safe place. I treat everyone with respect and kindness and I treasure the time between our hello and our goodbye and that you come and go in peace. I felt that by putting this in my home in clear view I am reminded of who I am and who I always want to be. The piece is in the shape of a house (from wood by the way that was used to build my art studio), the Shalom (explained above) and the Torah that teaches "tikkun olam" or how we make the world a better place.
