About the Artist: Lynne Sole

I am a multimedia artist living in Massachusetts, USA and member of LexArt Polymer Clay and Beading guild. I have been working with polymer clay for about 6 years. I am active in the polymer clay community and this year I have participated in a number of virtual challenges such as the Clay ConneCTion cane challenge which has enabled me to improve my cane making skills. I enjoy the experimentation and challenges of combining other media with polymer clay such as acrylic paints, oil paints, inks, pastels, mica powder and resin. Lately I have been experimenting with metal clay (silver, bronze and copper) and have been challenged to combine the metal clay pieces with polymer clay to make wearable jewelry pieces. The 3 pieces that I am exhibiting are all collar necklaces. This is a favorite design because it enables full use of a veneer without cutting into smaller pieces and removing the continuity. However, each piece is made using a different technique – carving, texturing and Sutton slice.
