One of the things on the agenda for our Board, is to find ways to include the newer generations. Well, we found just such a way at the Bead & Button Show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Every year, the IPCA has a booth at the show to promote polymer clay. Artists that are at the show will stop by the booth and offer demonstrations to passerbys. The wonderful Lisa Pavelka was our last demonstrator. And she had more than she bargained for!
My son happened to be at the show that day. He loves playing with the clay! He has a little table next to mine in my workshop. Today, he got a thrill as he watched Lisa show off her transfer metallics. She even left him some to play with. After she was gone, Gabe decided to have his own demonstration. He turned it into a kid's activity. It's such a great idea that we have decided to have one every year!
Do you have any cute stories about your kids playing with polymer clay? Or kid groups such as boy scouts, girl scouts, 4-H, etc? Let's get the word out there and spread the love of polymer clay to the next generation!
