pavelka_lipArtist Lisa Pavelka is launching her most ambitious project ever beginning January 1st,  2012. At 12:001 AM (PST), her new blog, "365 Days of Lip Service" goes live. Every day in 2012, Pavelka will post a new artwork created on the lid of a Carmex Jar.  She began making these with polymer clay over 10 years ago for gifts and later went on to feature the concept in one of her books.

For many years now, she toyed with the idea of creating a series of 100 teeny, tiny artworks. Pavelka was further inspired to expand on the idea after learning about Julie Powell's year long project to cook every recipe from Julia Child's cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking.Projects will be made of a variety of materials, often combining two or more in a mixed media application. Some of the materials Pavelka will use in her creations include but are not limited to: polymer clay, metal clays (Fine Silver, bronze and copper), SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, resin, wire, pearls, paper, paint, glass, wood, coins, buttons, hardware, found/recycled objects, hardware, etc.

The first of 366 projects (as 2012 is a Leap year) will appear on the the 1st and continue daily on her blog:
