Spain is a country of art and passion. A country where artists have paid a loving tribute to the light and beauty of life for centuries. And a melting pot where all different frontlines of art have been either unconditionally adopted, grown or created for the world to share.
About seven years ago, a group of friends gathered on the Internet around an artists’ material that had been there for a little while, polymer clay. They began sharing their creations and ideas. They talked about the books they read, written by the International artists who inspired them and whom they admired so much. Then meetings followed, and the dream of creating a National Polymer Clay Association, little by little, took shape.

Nottingham Castle Gate by Ethan Nicholls
At the end of June it was with great
pleasure that I took part in Helen Cox's Polymer Play Days in
Nottingham, England. For me, it was a special event, because my own
polymer clay journey truly began at Helen's event in 2008, and led
to my involvement with IPCA. Like many, I began my relationship with
Polymer in 2006 by working from books I found on Amazon.com, and from
the Internet. Back then, I didn't know how big the Polymer movement
was in the US and I was totally unaware of the phenomenal UK and EU
interest.

During 6,7th of June 2010, the Israeli guild had their second retreat. We gave the name "Desert wind" to this retreat since the event was in kibbutz “Sdote Yam” near the Mediterranean coast line.
During the entire workshops we had the beautiful view of sea in front of us, and it was inspiring and stunning.
In the retreat we had 3 teachers giving 3 half day workshops, and the subjects were:
- The 1st workshop was about How to make millefiori flower cane by Mars Tzigelnik
- The 2nd workshop was about how to make bracelets by Iris Mishly based on a Maggie Maggio format, in this workshop the girls got tips on improving their skinner blend by adding colors and mixing colors
- The 3rd workshop was about how to sculpt cats that peeks from a flowerpot by Idit Fischer Katz.
In the entire event there were 44 participants that took part and all
the products they made were beautiful work of art, the classes were most
enjoying and you can see the final products on the slideshow

On March 15th the Israeli polymer clay guild held its annual conference in Shfaiim kibbutz which is located on shore-line next to the Mediterranean Sea. In that meeting we celebrated 4 years anniversary which was sponsored by Israeli FIMO importer in Israel - "Atlas" company. There were 60 participants - all women :)
During the meeting we summarized the yearly activities, workshops given - both international and local. During this year we had 10 different workshops around the country in various subjects - Surfaces in polymer clay, Julie Picarello workshops, rose canes, face sculpturing, pillow heart beads, Millefiori with no background, kaleidoscope, Jana Roberts Benzon workshops, X stitches in polymer clay and variations in making Millefiori petals.8 contests took place this year, subjects were - summer, cultures, winter, liquid polymer clay, faces, miniatures, Judaic and vintage. The forum managements have changed last September and we said goodbye to Naama Zamir and Roni Gur. The new acting manager is Mira (Pinki) Krispil. We thank the previous management for their work during the first years and wish Mira good luck in her new position.

During the month of January there were eight workshops held around the country of Israel by the amazing polymer artist, Jana Roberts Benzon. As the manager of the Israeli guild, I want to share the experience of Jana's visit by writing some words describing her time with us. Jana gave us three workshop options to choose from, and the guild members voted to have her teach her "Oilslick Gradient" and "Organic Sculpture" techniques.
