Polymergence asked the IPCA board members to share some of their New Year's resolutions and goals related to our Association and the polymer clay community in general.

They shared their thoughts and ask that members also think about what directions they'd like to see our Association take in the next year. We always want to keep the lines of communication open.

President Beth Ackley

"I would like to develop and implement a plan to provide IPCA promotional materials at various events.  I would like to encourage all members who are participating at events to include IPCA materials.  We need to work with the membership to review benefits, provide access to sign up at events and other means to promote the IPCA.  I am excited to be working with the ICPA board, Synergy Chair and 2011 Retreat Chair to help us continue to grow in the upcoming yea rs."
Vice President for Education and Outreach Alison Gallant:

"I am so lucky to have been to Synergy in 2008 and 2010, which I thoroughly enjoyed. During the next two years I would like to see IPCA events also take place in Europe and beyond to enable us become a truly international organisation, letting others experience all aspects of the free exchange of ideas and help further develop this wonderful art form."

U.S. Guild Liaison Kathi Briefer-Gose

"I decided to run  for the US Guild Liaison position because I feel there can be much more done for the clay community in getting information about clay out to the public. I also would like to see more guild-to-guild interactions. I would love to get  inter-guild swaps going so folks can see what other guilds are doing art-wise--maybe even inter-guild swaps between US guilds and international guilds. I know I am looking forward to working with a talented group of people to move the IPCA forward in this decade."

Member at Large from Virginia Mary Sue "Pete" Rumbaugh

"My resolution is to help the IPCA to become more responsive to the wants and needs of our members, especially those who enjoy polymer clay as a creative hobby or who are just beginning to exhibit and sell their work. We need better two-way communication so we can more clearly identify those wants and needs."

Past President Suzanne Ivester

"Short-term, I resolve to organize and transfer to Beth all the IPCA files and archival materials I have. Long-term I'd like to help institute an IPCA 'Speaker's Bureau', to spread the gospel of polymer clay to educational and community groups."
