This is just before Sue heads to Cyprus for the Cyprus Polymer Clay Association's Fiesta where she will be teaching the technique over three days. For the uninitiated, pietre dure is an ancient technique of intarsia type mosaics made with slices of semi precious stones. It was developed in Florence, Italy in the 17th century. Sue has developed ways of recreating the beautiful images in polymer clay. It is suitable for all abilities but you need a steady hand and careful eye to achieve success.
